The Highlands, formerly known as Boyne Highlands, is a four-seasons resort in Northern Michigan. Now, it's doing a Chairs for Chair-ITY auction for Interconnect, which begins today.
Officials explain that Interconnect was one of the original chairlifts that has been operational since the resort's opening in 1963, and the funds will be allocated to local community organizations. See below.
The community organizations consist of Little Traverse Humane Society, Snow Angel Foundation, Harbor Springs Area Historical Society, and Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation.
The Highlands is located in Harbor Springs, Michigan, and is family-owned. The Highlands has been in operation for nearly 60 years, and is a member of the Boyne Resorts family of resorts.
This is not the first time the resort has auctioned off an old chairlift. It also auctioned off The Valley Lift (or The Heather Lift when it first opened).
This resort is known for its advanced chairlifts. From the world's first triple chair to the world's first bubble chair, The Highlands has truly set themselves apart in the ski industry.
On December 15, 2023, Camelot 6 made its grand opening to the public as one of the only detachable high-speed bubble chairlifts in the region.
On May 2nd, The Highlands switches over to Spring and Summer operations.
