Micah Parsons defends Dak Prescott, Cowboys amid criticism
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has had enough of the disrespect aimed towards his quarterback, Dak Prescott.

On the heels of the Cowboys’ 20-17 Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers Monday, Parsons called out the media for their treatment of Prescott and the Cowboys.

“I just don’t condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, and have the same energy for the Eagles,” Parsons said on his “The Edge” podcast Tuesday. “We want the same energy for everybody. Because there’s a whole bunch of bashing when it’s Dak Prescott, but not the same when it’s the Eagles.”

Prescott mentioned the Philadelphia Eagles directly, who dropped their first game of the season to the New York Jets Sunday. The All-Pro pass rusher wanted to make sure the same things that get said about the Cowboys when they lose, were consistent when Philadelphia suffered an unexpected defeat.

Parsons later called out Emmanuel Acho of FS1, who said he wasn’t worried about the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Cleveland Browns because of the injuries running back Christian McCaffrey and receiver Deebo Samuel suffered during the game.

“The Browns were missing Deshaun WatsonNick Chubb,” Parsons said. “They were missing them key factors before the game even started. So why is it that we are just scrubs and we’re nobodies, that don’t deserve to be on the field and we’re just all talk, but there’s 100 excuses for these other teams.

“If y’all just gonna hate Cowboys Nation, just say y’all hate Cowboys Nation.”

Dak Prescott quiets doubters in win over Chargers

Coming off a road win over Los Angeles, there wasn’t much criticism of Prescott to go around Tuesday. In a game the Cowboys had to have to avoid heading into the bye week on a two-game losing streak, Prescott had his best game of the season. The much-maligned Prescott completed 21-of-30 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown. He added 40 yards on seven carries and a score.

“It’s early in the season but 4-2 or 3-3, it’s a huge difference. Yeah, it just is,” Prescott said after the game. “Yeah… it’s early in the season. I’ve been in a 3-5 season that we turned around and went on a win streak and won the division… But 4-2, second road win of the year, against a great team, against a great offense, great defense.”
