Sacramento Kings Officially Release Two Players
USA TODAY Sports

NBA training camp will begin next month, so there continue to be a lot of transactions made around the league.

Recently, the Sacramento Kings signed three-time NBA Champion JaVale McGee.

Following the move, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski  reported that the team would waive Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta.

On Wednesday, the Kings officially waived the two players, and once they clear waivers, both Noel and Queta will become free agents available to sign with any team in the league.

Noel was initially the sixth pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, and he signed with Sacramento over the offseason.

Last year, the 29-year-old played in 17 regular season games for the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons.

He averaged 2.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest while shooting 36.1% from the field.

In addition to the Pistons and Nets, Noel has also played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks over nine seasons.

His career averages are 7.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks per contest while shooting 54.6% from the field in 467 regular season games (he has also appeared in 17 NBA playoff games).

Meanwhile, Queta played in five games for the Kings last season with averages of 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest while shooting 66.7% from the field.

He was the 39th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has spent his first two seasons in the league with Sacramento.

Last year, the Kings were the third seed in the Western Conference and lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
