The beat-up Bears offensive line has an extra player to work with this week.

Center Doug Kramer has been activated from injured reserve, where he has spent his entire career to date. As a result, the Bears have four players on the active roster who could play center. Lucas Patrick, Cody Whitehair and Dan Feeney all can play the position, as well, although it appears they're planning to start Patrick there this week after Whitehair struggled with snaps and some line calls last week.

The Bears are down a starting right guard because of an ankle injury to Nate Davis, so the interior of the offensive line is being tested like the tackle spot is. They're still without starting left tackle Braxton Jones.

Kramer went on injured reserve in 2022 training camp as a sixth-round rookie out of Illinois. The Chicago area native never got off IR then.

In camp this year, he suffered a hand injury and started out on injured reserve again.

The Bears have made several oother moves, as well.

They released defensive back Joejuan Williams and then signed him back to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, they released offensive lineman Austen Pleasants from the practice squad.
